Alcohol and Drug Problems

Alcohol is related to lots of different types of problems. We may try to relate it with amount of alcohol consumed but it can be much simpler than that. If someone’s drinking causes problem to him or her , or for someone else, in any area of their lives, then that drinking is problematic. Problem may be there with his or her health, law, finances, work, friends, or relationships. And if it causes problems for wives, husbands, children, parents, bosses, colleagues or subordinate, then also its problematic.

It means that whether someone has a drinking problem may not be determined by fixed quantities of alcohol, or timings and may be solely a matter of negotiation by a person to himself or herself and with all his relationships and society as a whole. This perspective is based on the consequences of drinking for the person and not simply in terms of amount consumed or frequency of consumption.
